611th Transportation Company
(Aircraft Direct Support)

The 611th Trans served in Vietnam from October 1962 until
March 1973, and was located at Vinh Long. It was part of the
765th Trans Bn. These photos originated with Lester Haverfield,
who was assigned to a Huey company at Vinh Long in 1964-65.
This group of photos shows an H-37, "Big Nick", in the process
of slinging a Huey. Believe the H-37 had one of its engines fail,
when it was hovering, with the Huey underneath. While the Huey
was destroyed, the H-37 has minimal damage. Good job guys.
